  I was wondering if the Tunguska Event would be brought up as I remember seeing a History Channel documentary on it a couple years back. Sure enough.............

  That 1908 blast, which was later attributed to a comet or asteroid fragment, is generally estimated to have been about 10 megatons. No injuries were reported, but some 80 million trees over 830 square miles were leveled in the blast known as the “Tunguska event.”

  The explosion near the Podkamennaya Tunguska River on June 30, 1908, reportedly flattened some 500,000 acres of Siberian forest. Scientists calculated the Tunguska explosion could have been roughly as strong as 20 megatons of TNT, or roughly 1,000 times more powerful than the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Space.com reported.

  The longstanding theory regarding the cause of the event is a cosmic impact from an asteroid or comet. In the last decade, researchers have conjectured the event was triggered by an asteroid exploding in Earth's atmosphere and measuring roughly 100 feet wide and 617,300 tons in mass — more than 10 times that of the Titanic.

  One other thing before I revert back to the mundane things of this world such as, making a living. If you get a chance, check out the Service Meeting for this week. There's a part associated with the letter that's going to be read regarding auxilliary pioneering for March/April. The directions on how this part is to be handled is classic as they're going out of their way to "encourage" ones to pioneer. The directions specifiy that two different types of publishers planning on pioneering during those two months be interviewed. One type is a person who's working full time, and the other is someone with health problems. The first one is no big deal to me as most dubs I know work full time, but the latter is hilarious to me. I mean seriously they requested that someone with health problems be trotted out on the stage for an interview as an example. It's a classic case of, "if this person can pioneer, what can't you?" I guess the powers that be in this organization consider that encouragement.

  Just got my hands on the letter from a Service Committee brother this morning. If this was already posted, my bad. I did a quick search, but didn't see anything. Gotta love it though. Shows just how arbitrary pioneering can be. All for what? A quick announcement, the audience claps, statistics are recorded, etc.. It's a joke.

  QR codes: a way to stop APOSTATES !!!

  interesting meeting today.the do had the last talk and he mentioned a couple of things i have not heard before :.

  1) the new lighter magazines are designed in a way to attract people to our website .

  2)the ministry will change to incoprorate preacing in town centres and and with stands as in manhattan and certain brothers will be allocated to do this .so it is done now in a big scale ,organised.. 3)the qr codes at the back of the magazines are there for smart phone users to guide them directly to jw.org ,unlike bad old internet via laptops and pc's that you have to look for the website on google and sometimes end up in enemy websites that look like our website but are spreading lies about jw's (he said exactly that!

  exlcusive brethren back in the newspapers ,2 pages article in dail mail on sunday ,the article is trying to make a point as to why we should be allowing a cult to get tax brakes as a charity .the following article is from a guardian 2007 article that describe practices similar to jw's disfellowshiping:.

  "growing up in the exclusive brethren meant missing out on a lot of things other children took for granted.

  it meant no tv, radio or recorded music, no pets, parties, school outings, plays or sports, no cinema, novels, magazines, no make-up or haircuts, and strict clothing rules.
